America in the year 1830.  Embark into a new world full of adventure, business, power and money. Brave pioneers set out to conquer the new world with their iron horses. As the owner of a small railroad company, your job is to build America’s first transcontinental railroad line.  The player sets out as the owner of a recently founded up-and-coming railway company on the east coast of America. Technology and materials are still in their infancy; however, a great research breakthrough and the development of fantastic railway technologies are imminent.

Build the Transcontinental Railroad and Unite the Continent!

• In the wide, undeveloped country of the new continent, you'll happen upon hidden dangers and treasures. Sign on staff for your first expeditions and open up paths for your rail network through the rough wilderness.
• Discover and exploit an increasing number of raw material deposits.
• Face the dangers of the wild and make sure that your pioneers are accompanied by the specialists they need, such as cartographers, gunmen, etc.

• Use tracks, switches and signals to build an efficient line system as the foundation for your business empire.
• The Dynamic Track System (DTS) makes connecting cities or raw material deposits mere child's play, but you can also plan the track sections individually according to your wishes in order to squeeze every last dollar from each rail. If the progress of your pioneers comes to a standstill because of a massif or raging river, your engineers will help you with mighty bridge or tunnel constructions.

• Your trains and engines are at the core of your small but thriving empire.
• Go into research and develop the fastest express locomotives or powerful freight engines to keep up with the increasing requirements of a thriving economy. And have your scientists research transport methods for the ever-growing number of new products in good time.
• Keep on trading to make sure that towns grow and profitable production chains develop. Remember to keep adapting your trade routes to the changing conditions.
• At the same time, don't forget to equip your locomotives with various upgrades. That way, you'll be able to take on special orders that'll keep you that one decisive step ahead of your competitors.
